It was an enormous pleasure to welcome Laura Metcalf and Rupert Boyd to Woodstock School! Under the suitably eponymous guise of “Boyd Meets Girl” this talented husband and wife duo wowed the audience with an inspiring range of works from baroque to the modern day. Masterful, moving and refined, this was a scintillating evening of the most profoundly beautiful music. While recently on tour in India with my chamber trio Syrinx : XXII, this collaboration proved to be of the utmost value, both artistically and logistically. Welham Boys’ School has had the privilege and honour of hosting two renowned and internationally acclaimed musicians, Soprano Patricia Rozario OBE and her husband, Pianist Mark Troop who performed for the students, staff and guests of the School in 2015. The duo enthralled the audience with their musical rendition and introduced all present to an all-new level of Western classical music.
This event was made possible by Nikhil Sardana and Sardana Creative Consultancy, associated with organising of musical events around the world. It was indeed a pleasure for Welham Boys’ School to have partnered with Mr Sardana and his team in hosting Patricia Rozario and Mark Troop and we look forward to yet another event in the future.

Big Ideas Company worked with the team at Sardana Creative Consultancy to book performers for a unique event on the night of 30 June 2016. Sardana provided us with a singer and accompaniment for a performance of George Butterworth’s elegiac song, ‘The Lads in their Hundreds’ composed in the years before the First World War. Butterworth himself was killed at the Battle of the Somme and the performance took place at midnight in the CWGC Delhi War Cemetery, as part of a British High Commission vigil for the Somme centenary. Baritone Bhanu Sharma’s expressive performance was recorded by the BBC Hindi service and broadcast on BBC Radio 3 the next morning.

MAESTRO ZUBIN MEHTA & THE AUSTRALIAN WORLD ORCHESTRA
A ZUBIN MEHTA CONCERT IS A MEGA-EVENT IN THE WORLD’S MUSIC CALENDAR. IN OCTOBER 2015, MAESTRO MEHTA CONDUCTED THE AUSTRALIAN WORLD ORCHESTRA AT THE JLN STADIUM AUDITORIUM IN NEW DELHI. OUR AREAS OF OPERATION INVOLVED LIAISING WITH THE CORE MANAGEMENT OF SHOWTIME GROUP, THE AUSTRALIAN WORLD ORCHESTRA AND THE AUSTRALIAN HIGH COMMISSION.

SERENADE IS INDIA’S FIRST ONLINE PORTAL DEDICATED TO THE PROMOTION, GROWTH AND AWARENESS ABOUT WESTERN CLASSICAL MUSIC.
